Graced with the signature Bluetech attention to detail and focus on melody, this release encourages a little body wobble and psychic tickle to get you through your lockdown blues.
Meant as a palette cleanser after the complex concepts of 2020s multi-genre Holotrope, Underwater Cities represents a left turn to splash around in the analog bubblebath and enjoy a little cheek before getting back to “serious” music.
Underwater Cities contains five original tracks which range from aquatic beatless arpeggiated tracks with lush detroit inspired chord progressions to 808 driven acid lines as well as a remix from Behind The Sky artist Pleasure Corporation. Using a restricted palette of sounds almost exclusively generated from the circuits of classic electronic gear like the Roland SH-101, TB-303, TR-808 and Juno 60, this release wades into unabashedly melodic territory with tongue firmly placed in cheek and a nod to the electronic music of Kirk Degiorgio, Dopplereffekt / Drexciya and the early work of Higher Intelligence Agency. Underwater Cities is a short but sweet nod to electro, detroit, warm vintage pads and the joy of vintage analogue synths. Continuing Behind The Sky’s mission to present new modular and analogue synthesizer music with a tip of the hat to classics of the genre, Underwater Cities features a gorgeous Moebius inspired original sleeve design by award winning UK illustrator Guy Warley. Originally slated for release early in 2020, the global pandemic and interruption in supply chains pushed the release until later in the year.
Once again the distinctive DiN label is pushing the boundaries of it’s established catalogue with a new addition to it’s roster of fine, internationally acclaimed electronic artists.Behind The Sky label boss and established electronic producer Bluetech returns with his first new music since 2019s two Billboard charting albums Sci-Fi Lullabies (top #10) and Holotrope (top #5). Evan has also got a track, “Magnetic Lullaby”, on the DiN sub-label compilation Tone Science Module No.2 Elements and Particles (DiN:TS02). Evan also invited DiN label boss Ian Boddy to perform using his distinctive Ondes Martenot analogue synth keyboard on the track “Tranquility Gate”. These benefit from repeated, deep listening as there are so many details and interlaced patterns that will reveal themselves over time. With the today classic psydub album, the project consisting of Frankfurt/Germany based producers Gabriel Le Mar, Groovetitan and Michael Kohlbecker, immediately placed itself among the artists of the electronic ambient scene. With a distinct nod to the Berlin School masters of the past he upgrades that musical heritage with nine shimmering soundscapes utilising modern production techniques to create beautiful tapestries of sound. Saafi Brothers debut 'Mystic Cigarettes' came out in 1997 on the british label Blue Room Released. “Liquid Geometries” sees him exploring shifting, fractal landscapes of melodic, sequenced lines using a huge range of analogue modular synthesisers. His music transcends the constructs normally associated with a calculated “electronic artist,” pursuing music with meaning and purpose in various styles like ambient and downtempo, future bass, and techno. Bluetech is a master of analogue and modular sound synthesis and DSP audio manipulation, and brings a passion for sound design and cutting edge audio exploration into all the work he touches. The new album from Gaudium is borne of these. This Auricle Music site on Bandcamp is for all the other oddments from our catalogue that wont fit on our individual artist pages. DJ Taz Rashid joins Shaman’s Dream and Bluetech on this remix on the original song Nectar from their ‘Prana Pulse’ release. It even has the feel of something from the 60s rock psychedelic era. He is an internationally recognised touring music producer with over 27 album/EP releases in the last 15+ years, and has a seasoned portfolio of video game and film/tv scoring credits. Confused Miracles by Gaudium, released 1. 'Nectar (DJ Taz Rashid Yoga Mix)' has a dreamy, journey energy with a deep global house beat and sprinkles of wisdom. Put on your helmet, strap yourself in and prepare for a sci-fidelity experience of retro futuristic synthesizer music.

Evan Bartholomew has been performing electronic music for nearly 20 years as Bluetech, Evan Marc, Invisible Allies (with Kilowatts), and is one of the founders of MicrodoseVR, with Android Jones and the Vision Agency team. Lovingly curated by Behind The Sky label head Bluetech, this 2xLP compilation is a love song to unabashedly melodic analog synthesizer music of cosmic proportions and the utopian science fiction of the 70s.
